1. An American won the race for the first time in 31 years!
Matt Richtman of Elburn, IL won the 2025 L.A. Marathon on Sunday. This marks the first time an American has won the race in 31 years!
2. These Legacy Runners have participated in all 40 L.A. Marathons.
The L.A. Marathon boasts an impressive and extremely dedicated group of marathoners known as “Legacy Runners.” This running group has participated in every L.A. Marathon since its beginning in 1986. L.A. is lucky to have more Legacy Runners than most other marathons. There were 93 Legacy Runners at this year’s marathon!
3. Lots of love for the LAFD
This special marathoner made more than one Angeleno emotional.
4. This brother supported his sister by surprising her at the marathon.
He surprised her mid-race to show his support.
5. Diplo stopped mid-marathon to DJ for other runners.
Diplo hyped up the marathoners and kept the energy going.
