Halloween season is getting even more terrifying as Son of Monsterpalooza returns to Burbank this weekend with three days of monsters, movie stars, special effects, and all things horror.
The fan-favorite horror convention takes over The Marriott Burbank Convention Center & Hotel from October 9 to 11. It brings more than 150 exhibitors, celebrity guests, makeup demonstrations, panels and plenty of creepy collectibles.
What to expect at Son of Monsterpalooza
The convention is a celebration of the artists and filmmakers behind some of horror and sci-fi’s most memorable creatures.
Visitors can browse more than 150 vendors, check out live makeup demonstrations, and meet actors and special-effects artists from beloved genre movies and shows.
This year’s lineup includes Ray Wise, Sherilyn Fenn, Deep Roy, Tommy Lee Wallace, James Marsters, and Juliet Landau, among other special guests. Marsters and Landau, best known for playing Spike and Drusilla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will also take part in a special Q&A.
There will also be plenty happening beyond the show floor, including horror panels and screenings. One highlight is a free screening of Phantasm on Saturday evening, while Friday features a screening and Q&A for the cult sci-fi western Oblivion.
Fans can also catch a “Ten Frankenstein’s Monsters” presentation Friday night celebrating some of the most iconic versions of the classic creature in film and television.
Ticket information
Tickets are available in advance, and fans interested in celebrity photo ops should note that photo-op tickets are sold separately from convention admission.
If you’re looking for something suitably spooky to do in Los Angeles this weekend, this massive monster convention is the perfect screamfest.
