Los Angeles is celebrating Día de los Muertos with a free neighborhood festival in West Adams this November. The fourth annual West Adams Día de los Muertos Block Party Festival will bring music, art, food, and cultural traditions to West Adams Boulevard on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Organized by Midcity Mercado in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Council District 10, the community event honors ancestors and loved ones who have passed while celebrating the traditions of Día de los Muertos.
What to expect at the West Adams Día de los Muertos Festival
One of this year’s highlights is the festival’s largest community altar yet, designed by El Creativo. Visitors are encouraged to bring photographs of deceased loved ones to place on the altar, creating a shared space for remembrance and reflection.
The festival will also feature the Más Cerca que Lejos art walk and memorial in partnership with the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA). Attendees can explore live mural painting, cultural workshops, and activities for all ages throughout the event.
Live music, DJs, dance performances, and a parade will bring the neighborhood to life, while families can enjoy free carnival rides and games. More than 100 vendors and food trucks will also be on-site, offering plenty of opportunities to discover local businesses and grab something to eat.
Beyond the festivities, the event supports Midcity Mercado’s mission to uplift small businesses, showcase diverse vendors, and encourage economic development in communities of color.
