As rents keep climbing and the cost of living in L.A. shows no signs of slowing down, affordable housing becomes essential. Projects that provide attainable options for low and moderate-income households are becoming a lifeline for Angelenos who struggling.
One such project could soon rise on a corner lot at 8688 W. Pico Boulevard in Pico-Robertson. According to Urbanize LA, developer Farzad Nourollah plans a seven-story, 55-unit apartment building that would replace a surface parking lot.

The design, by Los Angeles-based Beverly Design with LMM Studio as the project architect, features a contemporary podium-style exterior combining corrugated metal and painted stucco, and includes parking for 27 vehicles.
As a fully-affordable development, the proposal is requesting several incentives to allow for a larger building than zoning rules would normally permit. The site sits just a few blocks east of a senior housing project recently completed by Mercy Housing California, signaling a growing concentration of supportive housing in the area.
