DTLA has long been a playground for craft beer lovers, with its mix of historic buildings, industrial charm, and creative energy, it became a hub for breweries, taprooms, and beer enthusiasts.
But now, and sadly, the modern classic Angel City Brewery announced on Wednesday that it will close during the spring. In an Instagram post, the company wrote, “Alrighty, everybody, we hate to say it, but it needs to be said, we’re going to be closing the brewery on April 30, 2026. Now that we’ve got that covered, we’ve still got a few more months left to hang and celebrate with y’all”.

The closure follows the shutdown of the adjacent taproom serving hard seltzer, which closed in December 2025. Both spaces operate on the same property and are owned by the same parent company, which is known for popular brands like Samuel Adams and Twisted Tea, KTLA reports.
The brewery’s roots go back to 1997, when it was founded in Culver City. It later expanded by purchasing a German-themed brewery in Torrance before moving into the historic Roebling Building in 2010. After being acquired by its current owner in 2012, the beer lineup was revamped, and the space quickly became a must-see destination for locals and tourists exploring Little Tokyo and the Arts District.
