Wake up to the sounds of waves crashing with palm trees swaying above you in O’side.

These cute coral cottages by The Coast Concepts are just outside of L.A. and they’re litarally a stone’s throw away from the white sandy shores of The Strand. You’ll wake up to the sounds of waves crashing with the sun rising over the Pacific then settle in for the evening by taking in the technicolor sunsets on the front porch—or from your bed for that matter.

They may be compact, but make no mistake, they’re big on creature comforts. Each one includes a luxurious fold-out bed and sofa, a breakfast bar with stools, an open-plan kitchen with all amenities you could need and a bathroom. The interiors are clean and modern, with bright pops of color and curated furnishings to add a touch of quirkiness.

When you open the front door you’ll have a perfectly framed slice of landscape with no interruptions other than the odd umbrella. Essentially, you won’t have to leave the house to feel part of the beach scene—why dodge volleyballs when you can sit under the cute white umbrellas on the terrace?

With travel plans on hold, life in L.A. can feel a little bit like Groundhog Day. So no one will judge you for wanting to switch up the smog for blues skies and leave the skyscrapers behind to retreat to one of these luxe, oceanside dwellings. Not that leaving the city means there’ll be any shortage of things to do. This beach town, dotted with palms, has a beautiful harbor, pier with plenty of shops and resturants to enjoy.

You could start your day with Blueberry Multigrain Pancakes from Swami’s Cafe before catching some waves. If you prefer to make the most of the kitchen, you could collect fresh produce from Morning Street Market or Sunset Market and enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine on the front terrace.

In less than two hours from L.A., you could be here laying on the beach or looking at it from your own private oasis. What are you waiting for?
