We’re thanking her for being a friend! Iconic actress, hilarious comedienne, and beloved Golden Girl, Betty White, is being honored by the United States Postal Service with a special Commemorative Forever Stamp. The new stamp will be available next Thursday, March 27th. Plus, to kick off the launch of the Betty White stamp, the USPS is holding the First-Day-of-Issue Ceremony at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens next week.
A First-Class Stamp for a First-Class Lady
The stamp honors Betty White’s “remarkable career in the entertainment industry and her unwavering commitment to animal welfare.” It features a portrait of the adored star, and her name is printed in white near the bottom of the stamp. It will be available in panes of 20. Philatelists everywhere should rush to nab this touching tribute of one of America’s favorite sweethearts.
LA Zoo Dedication Ceremony
The LA Zoo ceremony will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. And even sweeter, it will be held at the Allen Ludden Plaza which is named after White’s late husband.
This event is free for LA Zoo members or with general admission tickets purchased at the entrance on the day of the event. However, attendees should preregister on the website here.
