The Southern California passenger rail service is offering complimentary rides system-wide to passengers with bicycles from Monday 13 through Friday 17, in celebration of Bike Week. Additionally, Metrolink has compiled a list of the top 14 biking routes, conveniently accessible from nearby Metrolink stations, catering to cycling enthusiasts in search of inspiration.
Metrolink boasts an extensive service network spanning over 540 miles, encompassing 67 stations across L.A., Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and San Diego counties. Furthermore, the Metrolink Arrow service provides nine miles of connectivity between San Bernardino and Redlands.
Metrolink also joins other Southern California transit services in commemorating Bike Week by providing complimentary rides to cyclists. On Thursday, LA Metro extends the gesture by offering free rides to all passengers across its bus and rail lines. Moreover, Metro Bike Share sweetens the deal with free 30-minute rides facilitated by a promo code.
Ventura County cyclists can enjoy free bus rides operated by the Ventura County Transportation Commission on Friday. Adding to the festivities, the Orange County Transportation Authority is organizing a bike rally and four-mile group ride on Wednesday at the Orange Metrolink Station.
These initiatives are part of the celebrations for National Bike Month, observed every May since its inception in 1956 by the League of American Bicyclists.
