Spring is in full swing across SoCal, with wildflowers popping up in places like Death Valley and Antelope Valley, tulips bursting at Descanso Gardens, and cherry blossoms painting San Diego in shades of light pink.
But by far, one of the biggest attractions this season is The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, currently at peak bloom. They are considered the largest flower fields in the entire country, with literally millions of red, yellow, pink, purple, and white blossoms.
Carlsbad Flower Fields, the biggest in the U.S.

The Flower Fields at this enchanting corner of the Golden State, less than two hours from L.A., cover about 55 acres (almost 40 football fields) of coastal farmland, planted in long, color-coded rows of 13 ranunculus varieties. The fields stretch as far as the eye can see, bursting in color thanks to 80 million flowers.
Beyond the flowers, which are a spectacle in themselves, visitors can wander through the Butterfly Encounter, a greenhouse where hundreds of butterflies flutter around, take a tractor wagon ride across the rolling fields for elevated views of the colorful rows, or explore artist gardens and bird aviaries, where floral design meets nature observation.
