What is Candlelight Wine?

If your ideal night out involves a good glass and an even better soundtrack, L.A.’s newest event is for you. Candlelight Wine, the latest from the team behind Candlelight, is a 70-minute tasting where five wines meet live classical music from a professional string quartet, all under Candlelight’s signature candlelit glow.
Every bottle is selected by wine professionals for quality, balance, and character. The rest of the evening belongs to the music.
Music and wine: Why and what else do you need to know
So, why pair wine with a string quartet? Music shapes how you perceive flavor, and Candlelight Wine puts that to the test in real time. Each wine is matched with a piece that either mirrors or contrasts its character, and the musician guiding the evening explains the link between what’s in your glass and what’s in your ears in plain, friendly terms.
The night opens with a piece and a welcome, then moves through five wines, each introduced by the musician and paired with a live performance, before a closing piece wraps things up. You’ll be seated at tables, which makes it a strong pick for date night or catching up with friends.
The experience lasts 70 minutes. Doors open 30 minutes before the start, and late entry isn’t permitted. Guests must be 21+ with a valid ID.

Where is Candlelight Wine taking place?
Catch One, at 4067 W. Pico Boulevard, is a venue with plenty of character, spread across five rooms with five different moods. It’s also a place with real roots: it opened as Jewel’s Catch One in 1973 under founder Jewel Thais-Williams, grew into a pioneering social space for LA’s Black LGBTQ+ community, and was named a Historic-Cultural Monument in 2024.

Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, a live music lover or simply looking for an excuse to make an evening of it, Candlelight Wine offers a fresh way to savour both. Tickets are now on sale, so pick your date, raise a glass and let the music do the rest.
