Yo-Yo Ma will play Bach’s Solo Cello Suites Live, here’s how to watch the tribute concert.
The Grammy-winning American cellist (that’s 18 Grammy awards, to be specific) has canceled his tour as is the case with every other musical performance this year. Like many of those artists, Yo-Yo Ma has decided to take the opportunity to share his music with the world during this time by streaming live performances.
This Sunday, he will be putting on a performance in honor of all those that have suffered through the tremendous caused by the coronavirus. “A Musical Memorial and Tribute: Yo-Yo Ma plays Bach’s Solo Cello Suites Live”will stream live at noon (Pacific Daylight Time) on Sunday from Yo-Yo Ma’s YouTube channel and on kusc.org. So you can listen to the beautiful show from home or while driving out today.
Here’s a little taster of the performance you can expect today.
Tomorrow I’ll be playing Bach’s complete cello suites live as a memorial to those we lost and a tribute to the resilience of our communities. I hope you’ll join me. Until then, this is the Prelude from Suite No. 2. #songsofcomfort https://t.co/0YfJuoZXSf pic.twitter.com/PpNUaPrDB1
