A Chicano art pop-up is happening in L.A. right now!
Shoe Palace and On have teamed up to curate Lens & Legacy, a Chicano art pop-up you can see in the Melrose location through the end of the week. Honoring Cinco de Mayo, the immersive pop-up is showcasing Los Angeles-based, Mexican-American photo and visual artists from May 1 through May 8 – so there’s just a few days left to catch it!
According to the press release, Lens & Legacy features “30 human-centered, black-and-white contemporary photos and portraits” exploring family, lowriders, graffiti, love, street art, and what it means to be an Angeleno. Grammy-winning and Pulitzer-recognized photographer Roberto ‘retOne’ Reyes, whose producing credits included Kendrick Lamar’s “Damn” and To Pimp A Butterfly and SZA’s Ctrl, contributed four 35mm film prints to the show. Learn more about the artists below.
The pop-up is open to the public from 12 pm to 6 pm until this Friday, May 8. Guests can also enjoy On sneaker customizations, giveaways, and new shoe releases.
