For many in Los Angeles, the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Race has become a favorite way to celebrate Lunar New Year. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing wildfires affecting the region, the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Run Committee (LACFRC) has made the understandable decision to postpone the event, originally scheduled for February 1-2, 2025, to a later date this year.
The wildfires have significantly impacted Los Angeles, displacing families, threatening homes, and leading to the cancellation of community events. Prioritizing the safety of participants, volunteers, and local residents, the LACFRC determined that postponing the event was the best course of action to ensure everyone’s well-being.
