Escape to the undulating landscapes of Cielo Farm where you’ll find of 30 acres olive trees and vines with a rustic Tuscan-styled stone barn at the heart of it all. While it’s known for being one of the top wedding venues (for obvious reasons), it also has a tasting room with an outdoor seating area with panoramic views. It’s like stepping into the heavens where you can soak up the sunsets and picturesque surroundings while you sip on incredible California wines and inhale the fresh ocean-scented air.
The tasting room The Barn, It’s the perfect celebration of the land and its rich offerings, along with the passion and craftsmanship of those that tend to it. This family-run estate has been going since 1999 and offers the peaceful seclusion of the countryside villa without venturing too far from the hustle and bustle of L.A.
Tastings include both the estate and Woodstock wines where you’ll get to sample 20 wines exclusive to this Malibu experience. Cielo has everything from the full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with complex mineral notes, to a white made with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscat varietals.
“Cielo” meaning sky in Italian, seems like a fitting name for this dreamy slice of SoCal perched in the mountains. Uninterrupted views mean you see endless blue skies juxtaposed with lush green hills and you bask in the serenity of the vineyards and olive groves. You can feast on a beautiful charcuterie board or woodfired pizza as the sun takes its final bow and the twinkling fairy lights set the terrace aglow. If you’d like to take a bit of the magic home with you, there’s always the option of joining the wine club.
Reservations can be made through Tock for 2 to 6 people with a $25 table charge with timeslots starting from 3 p.m. It’s a 40-minute drive from Los Angeles, but it’s well worth it. So grab your fellow wine lovers and treat yourself to the perfect day out!
