Not A Normal Pit Stop
Get your car washed. Fill up on gas. Grab a burrito from a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef. This is definitely not your normal gas station pit stop. A certain North Hollywood gas station near the corner of Sherman Way and Whitsett Avenue is really shaking up expectations on gas station grub.
Cilantro Mexican Grill
Chef Adolfo Perez trained at Le Cordon Bleu culinary institute in Pasadena. However, instead of immediately getting to start his own creative kitchen, he then spent several years stuck working tirelessly in corporate kitchens like the Hamburger Hamlet and The Cheesecake Factory. When he was finally given the opportunity to cook his own food in his own way, Chef Adolfo blessed the public with his vision of what Mexican food could be at this new roadside gem.
La Comida
Chef Adolfo makes enticing burritos, tacos, tostadas with delicious carne asada and chicken al pastor. His breakfast burritos and guacamole receive rave reviews. However, the star of the menu is his surf-and-turf burrito. This now famous burrito consists of a tortilla stuffed with beef, pan-seared shrimp, rice, and beans and then doused in cilantro pesto and homemade salsas. And while gas prices may break the bank, the food at Cilantro Mexican Grill will not. All of the items on the menu are between $6 and $10. Plus, people also rave about their playlist which includes everything from classical music to Selena. Good times are rolling at Cilantro.
