Angelenos, it’s time to dust off your cowboy boots! One of the last surviving true American folk arts is riding into town. Cowboy poetry, the intimate storytelling tradition inspired by the Old West, is coming to Eastwood L.A. bar on Thursday, Jan. 22 for a rootin’ tootin’ good time!

Calling All Cowboys!
Eastwood bar is transforming into a haven for storytellers and poets. The event is completely free. Writers can use vintage typewriters, pen and paper, or bring their own works to share for this free workshop and open mic night. Share your poem with the crowd for a chance to win prizes.
Cowboy crooners aren’t left out either. Eastwood provides a ¼ guitar input and microphone for singer-songwriters and folk artists to perform during the open mic.
Feeling adventurous? Hop on the mechanical bull and add a little rodeo flair to your evening. There’s even cowboy bingo! Plus, there will be prizes all night from “best dressed” awards to a special surprise award.
Sign-ups kick off at 7:30 PM, so come early and claim your spot. Plus, there’s a special happy hour till eight, so get there early for a little liquid courage to help you sign up for the open mic.
What is Cowboy Poetry?
Cowboy poetry is about preserving history. These tales capture the romance, struggles, and landscapes of the American West. Through spoken word, music, and performance, cowboy poetry celebrates a vanishing art form, bringing the Old West to life in the heart of L.A.
Whether you’re a poet or cowboy at heart, this is your chance to join the revival of a truly American art form. Saddle up, cowpoke, and make it a night to remember.
