It’s never too soon to start planning the holidays!
And this year, Del Mar Fairgrounds will once again be brightened up with countless lights and jolly music for the holidays. The same company that brought Concerts In Your Car to Del Mar this fall will continue spreading the joy with Holidays In Your Car. CBF Productions plans to create a new drive-thru version of the beloved Holiday of Lights that used to take place in the fairgrounds, which ended eight years ago after a 22-year-long run. A perfect Covid-friendly, socially distanced way to ring in the most wonderful time of the year.
Holidays In Your Car is set to roll into Del Mar and Ventura next month with a dazzling light show sure to impress the whole family. The experience will feature over 1 million LED lights, holograms and projection mapping, all animated to songs from the most popular holiday classics. Some of the glittering light installations will be over 40 feet tall, so get your cameras ready!Concerts in Your Car founder and producer Vincenzo Giammanco told the San Diego Union-Tribune that the experience is all about discovery. He says, “it will be like a lazy river meets a discovery of holiday excitement.” And we’re so ready for it.
The setup will be a 1.5 mile path that will start at the main parking lot of the fairgrounds at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, and will weave around fairgrounds buildings. And this isn’t your typical holiday lights drive-by. The whole experience is supposed to last 18 to 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time to soak in all of the holiday cheer.Space is limited and tickets are only available online and in advance. Tickets are sold by car and cost $49 for a car with up to four passengers and $64 for a vehicle with five or more. Holidays In Your Car begins on December 5 and runs through January 2.
