The Los Angeles Dodgers are about to make getting into games easier than ever. In an effort to reduce long wait times at entry gates, Dodger Stadium is rolling out a new facial recognition system called “Go-Ahead Entry”. This will allow fans to enter the stadium without needing to show their tickets.
How does facial recognition at Dodger Stadium work
The system, integrated with the MLB Ballpark app, uses facial authentication technology to scan and verify tickets automatically. Fans simply need to register, take a selfie, and head to a designated entry lane, making the process completely hands-free and fast.
Where to find the facial recognition system
For the 2025 season and after sweeping the Cubs in the Tokyo Series, Dodger Stadium will introduce three entry points with Go-Ahead Entry technology:
- ✔ Left Centerfield Gate
- ✔ Right Field Reserve Gate
- ✔ Left Field Reserve Gate
Once a fan is registered in the MLB Ballpark app, a camera at the entrance scans their face, verifies their ticket, and grants them access, without needing to stop or show a barcode.
Participation is completely optional, and only fans 18 and older can opt-in. Traditional ticket scanning will still be available at all other entry points.
New antennas to improve Internet connectivity
In addition, the Dodgers are making other improvements for their fans as they prepare for the upcoming season and MLB’s Opening Day.
To prepare for the increased mobile phone usage, Dodger Stadium has installed MatSing lens antennas to provide fans with a better mobile connection and fewer data drops. So you can expect better internet connectivity when you watch the Dodgers.

With sellout crowds and major matchups ahead, this innovation aims to speed up entry and enhance the overall fan experience. The system was tested in select MLB ballparks before arriving in Los Angeles. And early feedback suggests it could significantly cut down wait times at the gates.
This upgrade is part of a larger effort to modernize Dodger Stadium, which has undergone several improvements for the new season, including renovations to player facilities and fan areas.
For Angelenos heading to the ballpark, this could mean less time in line and more time enjoying the game. All thanks to cutting-edge facial recognition technology.
