In a bold and perhaps surprising fusion of global sports cultures, FC Barcelona has unveiled an exciting three-season partnership (2025–26 through 2027–28) with the Kobe Bryant brand and Nike. It’s a tribute that connects the heart of Catalan football to the legacy of Los Angeles.
The campaign, titled “Mamba Rondo,” draws inspiration from Kobe Bryant’s iconic “Mamba Mentality” and Barça’s signature rondo training. The partnership aims to create innovative soccer jerseys and apparel that honor both sporting legacies while bridging basketball and football cultures on a global scale.
Kobe Bryant’s connection to FC Barcelona ran deep. He admired the club’s style of play and often spent time with players and staff during visits to Barcelona and the team’s U.S. tours. As a lifelong fan of the sport, he saw in Barça the same discipline, creativity, and commitment to excellence that defined his own approach to basketball.
The 2025–26 FC Barcelona away soccer jerseys are inspired by the purple and gold colors of the L.A. Lakers, honoring Kobe Bryant’s legacy. The jersey is “clear Team Gold colour with touches of Persian violet and black.” Instead of the usual Nike Swoosh, Kobe’s Sheath logo appears on the jersey and shorts. The club crest and logos have a textured, snakeskin design, adding a special touch. The jersey also includes black shorts and socks with purple details and subtle snake patterns.
Besides the jerseys, the collection features pre-match tops, tracksuits, slides, and special sneakers, the Kobe 4 Protro and Air Force 1 Protro, designed in Barça colors. All items are available from today, July 29, 2025, and are available worldwide through Nike’s website, the official Barça store, and select retailers. The team will debut the kit officially when they face FC Seoul this Thursday, July 31, in Seoul.
