Back-to-school season is almost here, and families can get ready with free backpacks, school supplies, and community resources at the annual Dena Community Backpack Giveaway.
The free event returns to the Rose Bowl Stadium on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Organizers will provide free backpacks filled with school supplies, along with helpful resources and a fun day of activities for students and families.
Last year, the event brought together community partners and volunteers to serve more than 4,000 students. This year, organizers hope to make an even bigger impact.
The Rose Bowl and Rose Bowl Institute are partnering with LOV Olive Branches, Neighborhood Servants, the Pasadena Educational Foundation, and the City of Pasadena to host the annual giveaway.
🎒 What to expect
Families can pick up a free backpack filled with school supplies while supplies last. The event will also feature community resources, family-friendly activities, and entertainment throughout the day.
It’s a great opportunity for students to get ready for the new school year while connecting with local organizations and enjoying a fun community celebration.
