Angelenos are invited to help set a new world record this Saturday in L.A.! IHOP aims to set a new Guinness World Record by serving the most pancakes in eight hours in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of National Pancake Day.
The charity event is called “20K for Pancake Day,” and it will take place at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, March 1st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. IHOP’s Chef Art Carl and his team will serve IHOP’s world-famous pancakes to all attendees. Get ready for a delicious day filled with food and DJs. Plus, there are hints of two huge surprises in store.
Pancakes for Charity
For each pancake served during the record attempt, IHOP will donate $1 to Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks. Feed America directly supports the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in its mission to combat hunger across L.A. County.
Current Record Holders
The current Guinness World Record for most pancakes served in 8 hours is held by the Calgary Stampede, a nonprofit community organization. In 2023, the organization served more than 17,000 pancakes in eight hours.
Pancake Party
Even if you can’t make it to Santa Monica this Saturday, there’s good news! All pancake lovers can still join the celebration on National Pancake Day next Tuesday, March 4. Guests at participating IHOP restaurants nationwide will receive a free Short Stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7 am to 8 pm.
