In the rainbow crosswalks, something electric happens in West Hollywood every June. The city doesn’t just host Pride – it becomes Pride. And this year, WeHo Pride returns louder than ever, transforming Santa Monica Boulevard into a fever dream of drag royalty, queer activism, and after-dark chaos that only Los Angeles can deliver.
Harvey Milk Day Kick-Off Event
It all begins with the Harvey Milk Day Kick-Off Event on Friday, May 22, where the city honors Harvey Milk, California’s first openly LGBTQ+ elected official. But this isn’t some sleepy civic ceremony.
By 6 p.m., West Hollywood Park turns into a full-scale queer celebration complete with the 4th annual José Julio Sarria Drag Pageant, a glitter-soaked tribute to one of drag culture’s most legendary pioneers.
WeHo Pride Arts Festival
The WeHo Pride Arts Festival on May 23 and 24 pulls in queer artists, performers, filmmakers, and cultural disruptors from across the city, turning galleries and public spaces into immersive celebrations of identity and rebellion. By the following weekend, the energy shifts from artistic to absolutely unhinged in the best way possible.
Friday Night at OUTLOUD
Friday Night at OUTLOUD launches June 5 with massive performances, celebrity appearances, and crowds packed shoulder-to-shoulder under the warm Los Angeles night sky. OUTLOUD at WeHo Pride continues through June 7, serving as the weekend’s glittering centerpiece.
And if you know WeHo, you know the streets themselves become the main character.
WeHo Pride Street Fair
The WeHo Pride Street Fair takes over June 6 and 7 with DJs, food vendors, pop-ups, and enough fashion moments to shut down Instagram for the weekend.
The Dyke March returns June 6 with all the righteous energy, protest spirit, and community power that made it iconic in the first place, while the Women’s Freedom Festival celebrates queer women, trans voices, and nonbinary creators in a space built entirely around visibility and joy.
WeHo Pride Parade
Finally, on June 7, the WeHo Pride Parade storms through the city in full technicolor force. It’s a collision of activism, performance, politics, and pure spectacle. Hundreds of thousands are expected to line the streets as floats, dancers, drag legends, activists, and celebrities flood the boulevard.
In West Hollywood, Pride isn’t just a parade route. It’s art, history, nightlife, resistance, and Hollywood fantasy all rolled into one unforgettable month.
