If you’re planning a visit to The Getty Center anytime soon, you’ve got a fresh reason to hang out a little longer: a brand-new outdoor spot that just opened up near the museum’s entrance, and it’s bringing all the good vibes, views and artsy feel.
Trellis Bar & Lounge, is the new addition to the center after its recent reopening. It’s a cozy, stylish terrace decked out with a lavender trellis (yep, that’s the inspiration behind the whole design), bright colors like cobalt blue and sunny yellow, and these cool striped patterns that catch the sunlight just right. It’s the perfect blend of Getty’s classic architecture with a fun, modern twist that makes you want to kick back and soak it all in!
To keep the art vibes going, this new venue includes a menu crafted and managed by Bon Appétit, that’s almost too pretty to sip. There’s Monet’s Mojito, a fresh take on the classic with white rum, St-Germain, mint, lime, and seltzer (basically summer in a glass). If you’re not drinking alcohol, you could try the Irises mocktail, inspired by Van Gogh. The drink features butterfly pea tea, lavender, lemon, and honey seltzer, making it just as dreamy.
To pair up your thirst-quenching options, you can opt for the many and delicious shareable bites like sliders, fries, taquitos, and tostadas, plus plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Open Tuesday through Sunday, Trellis is your new go-to for a chill afternoon or early evening. Oh, and the best part? You don’t need to book ahead, just swing by when you’re ready. So next time you’re at The Getty, take a break from the art and treat yourself to a little taste of something special.
