It might not be the best choice for a romantic date night (especially if your partner is sitting too close), but garlic is, without a doubt, one of the most noble, versatile, and flavorful veggies out there. From pasta to seafood, local and global cuisine just wouldn’t be the same without this little white bulb packed with taste and its unmistakable aroma.
Since it started in 1979, The Gilroy Garlic Festival has been a big deal, drawing thousands of visitors every year and helping local schools and groups with the money it raises. People love it because it celebrates garlic in all its tasty forms…
This year, the festival will last three days, full of fun, food, and music. You can expect the famous Gourmet Alley, where they cook dishes like garlic shrimp, fried calamari, and garlic fries right in front of you. There will be live shows and local artists selling their crafts. And don’t miss the famous garlic ice cream. Though it sounds strange, it’s a fan favorite! Whether you love garlic or just want to try something new, this event is a must.
The festival is smaller now, but it still has that special feeling and great food. It shows how much people love garlic and how a simple ingredient can bring a whole community together.
