SoCal’s festival calendar is packed year-round with massive events celebrating every genre imaginable, from smooth jazz nights to high-energy electronic raves. But not every great festival experience has to revolve around adults, kids deserve their own chance to party too!
And luckily, one beloved local event is turning Griffith Park into a full-scale celebration designed entirely for them. Known as the “Coachella for Families,” The Great Big Family Play Day presented by Tonies is a giant kid-friendly music festival packed with entertainment across multiple live stages.
Live music, foam parties, play zones and more
The weekend’s lineup includes some of the biggest names in children’s music, including special headliner Laurie Berkner, alongside interactive performances, dance parties, and sing-alongs designed to keep kids of every age moving all day.
The fun goes far beyond the concerts. Families can explore interactive play zones tailored by age group, with everything from sports areas and bike courses to arts and crafts stations, science activities, literacy corners, building zones, baby ball pits, rides, and classic festival games. There will also be food vendors, lounge spaces, gifting stations, foam parties, and plenty of hands-on experiences spread throughout the park.
