1. Halloween Horror Nights
Everybody knows about Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, one of the most notorious haunted attractions in Los Angeles. See the world-famous theme park transformed into an enormous Halloween haunt with eight spine-chilling haunted houses, plus a new riff on the horrifying Terror Tram. All of the houses will be based on cult-favorite horror movies including A Quiet Place, Ghostbusters, Insidious, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, plus a new spooky foray into The Weeknd’s most iconic music videos. 2. House of Spirits
You’re invited to an exclusive, elegant, and distinctly macabre evening at House of Spirits: A Haunted Cocktail Soirée. Casa Vega’s hauntingly beautiful Halloween party is inspired by the final paintings of Spanish painter Francisco Goya and traditional Spanish folktales. 3. Knott’s Scary Farm
Knott’s Scary Farm has brought the scares for over fifty years, making it the longest-running Halloween theme park event in SoCal. Over 1,000 terrifying creatures will be stalking the grounds of the massive theme park, congregating around ten creative haunted mazes, sinister shows, and unbelievable attractions. New this year is “Widows,” a convalescent home hosting a crew of horrifying spider-haunted residents; and “Eight Fingers Nine: The Boogyman,” where a colonial township is battling an inhuman monster.

4. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience
This ghoulish pop-up is here just in time for Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hitting theaters in September. Meet some of the most iconic characters from the Beetlejuice universe while enjoying tasty themed food and drinks. The officially-licensed experience has taken over 11,000 square feet of Ovation Hollywood with recreated sets, photo ops, and live entertainment.

5. Los Angeles Haunted Hayride
As one of L.A.’s most sought-after haunted attractions, the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride brings a uniquely terrifying experience aboard creepy haywagons. 6. Delusion: The Red Castle
Delusion is back at a new location in Downtown Los Angeles! This year, you’ll play your part as a disturbed patient in an interactive horror play, presided over by the brilliant psychologist Dr. Frederick Lowell. Be transported to the 20th century at this experience taking place in the Stimson House, a mysterious L.A. mansion dating back to 1891.

7. Six Flags Fright Fest Extreme
Spend a sinister evening at Six Flags Magic Mountain, which will be outfitted with eleven haunted houses and nine scare zones to make up California’s largest haunt. Lights will be turned off for rides and coasters too, so you’ll experience the theme park in a thrilling new trip for the senses.

8. Reign of Terror
Reign of Terror has grown and fine-tuned its walk-through haunted house every year since 1999, and at 32,000 square feet of floor space, it’s now the largest indoor attraction of its kind in Southern California. Get lost in 142 custom interconnected rooms outfitted with living and mechanical characters that will scare you to your core. Each year, proceeds from Reign of Terror go to benefit local community organizations including the Conejo Recreation and Parks District.

9. Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor

10. Creep LA x Ghosts
Fans of the CBS show Ghosts will be thrilled to experience this new haunted house from Creep LA, which will take over two West Adams mansions for an hour-long interactive show. In one mansion, you can take photos and see show memorabilia in a recreation of Ghosts‘ terrifying Woodstone Bed & Breakfast. In the other mansion on the “dark side” of the street… let’s just say you’ll need to have your wits about you.

11. The 17th Door Haunt Experience
17th Door’s 2024 haunted house takes place in a horrific prison, where tormented inmates roam the shadows. You’ll need to survive encounters with the demented prison barber, the bloodstained butcher, and the notoriously cunning warden. Be prepared for an especially “immersive” attraction — that is, moving floors, claustrophobia, total darkness, strobe lighting, and 100+ MPH winds. Just remember the safe word, “Mercy!” if it gets too intense.

12. Urban Death Tour of Terror
A small but mighty theater group puts on a hell of a show in this NoHo strip mall. Test your bravery around these talented players from Zombie Joe’s, who present a raunchy and thrilling haunted tour experience. Check it out on weekends through October, with extra days added leading up to Halloween.

13. All Saints Lunatic Asylum
All Saints Lunatic Asylum is a year-round haunted house in Apple Valley dating back to 2011. They open on big holidays throughout the year, but of course, the Halloween season is an ideal time to visit. Actor Douglas Tait will be there signing autographs on Halloween night, and at only $15, this is one of the best budget haunted houses to see around LA this year.
