Hulu is giving a special sneak peek of its upcoming true-crime drama Welcome to Chippendales with a unique event that lets you step inside the world of the show. Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales Experience will be open November 18th and 19th at the famous Rocco’s in West Hollywood (8900 Santa Monica Blvd).
Welcome to Chippendales is a three-part experience that will whisk you back to the late 70s. We all know Chippendales as the iconic male strip show, but now the full story of its ill-fated founder will be told. Featuring live performances and clips from the upcoming series, this show will have you at the edge of your seat.
The original series will be an eight-episode limited series telling the “insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that became a cultural phenomenon.” And the best way to get ready for this upcoming hit show is with this live event from Hulu.
At Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales Experience, you won’t just learn how a failing West LA bar was turned into the premiere showcase for male burlesque talent. You’ll also discover the story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, the man behind Chippendales who went to extreme lengths to see his business thrive.
Just how far did Steve Banerjee go to get Chippendales off the ground? You’ll have to watch to find out! The show comes out November 22nd–in which Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Eternals) plays Banerjee–but you can get an in-depth, early look (and even a free drink) at this limited-time experience.
In an interview with People magazine, Nanjiani said that “the show itself spans 15 years from the beginning, all through [the Chippendales] hype, to sort of when it started being less popular.” He also stated “there’s a lot of twists and turns,” so who knows where this experience and the show will go.
Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales Experience will take place at the famous Rocco’s in West Hollywood (8900 Santa Monica Blvd) on November 18th and 19th.
