HUNTERxHUNTER Fans Can Finally Take The Real Life Hunter Exam This Spring In LA, Plus: Official Merch And Live Characters

What’s in store and how to prepare

The Hunter Exam: Battle of Wits was created by SCRAP Japan, the famous escape room and immersive puzzle game creator, who basically invented the genre. As masters of the craft, they know how to put them together and this experience is no exception.

Step 1: Initiation

Upon entry, participants will receive a high stakes briefing to prepare you for the exam. Here you’ll receive your official exam badge (which makes for a great souvenir to take home).

Step 2: The test 

The exam consists of a series of intricate, interconnected puzzles designed to test your intellectual abilities and powers of deduction. No gimmicks are involved – no VR, no strobes, no crawling or climbing required. You’ll just need to harness the focus and mental fortitude of a Nen master. Plus live character performances will transport you further to the world of Yoshihiro Togashi’s masterpiece.

Step 3: Become a Hunter (if you’ve got what it takes)

Just like in the show, the pass rate is low: it’s an honor to be a Hunter after all. Find out if said honor will be bestowed upon you and revel in the experience or commiserate with like-minded fans. 

Step 4: Get limited-edition merch

To remember your journey and solidify your place in the HxH universe, there’s a range of official limited-edition HUNTERxHUNTER merch that is only available at this pop-up. The items include: 

✅ Pass/fail stickers to commemorate the occasion

🎖️ Keychains and buttons of all your favorite characters

🕷️ A pin with the spider emblem of the Phantom Troupe
