The Byrant family gathered on March 15, 2023, to commemorate the late Kobe Bryant in an incredible way.
Vanessa Bryant and daughters Natalia, Capri, and Bianka gathered together last week in Hollywood to honor Kobe Bryant’s legacy by unveiling a cemented imprint of Kobe’s hands and feet—making history.
“As you visit here for years to come, I encourage you to place your hands in his, and take a moment to stand in his shoes,” Natalia said at the unveiling. “This will be a treasure for the city of Los Angeles and my dad’s fans from all over the world to hold and to cherish.”
In 2011, Kobe became the first athlete to have his cemented prints at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre. In honor of his memory, the theatre has placed his handprints and footprints in their forecourt on display permanently. Typically, imprints that are displayed outside the theatre are usually cycled through and replaced with another due to limited space, however, Kobe’s will remain indefinitely.
“It is only fitting that my dad, Kobe Bryant, is the very first athlete to get their hand and footprint displayed here in the city of Los Angeles,” said Natalia. “This day symbolizes the impact that he has had on a city that he loved and cared for so deeply.”
Angelenos now have a place to visit and pay their respects to their beloved basketball player, forever.
This incredible commemoration comes three years after Kobe, his daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, and Ara Zobayan lost their lives in a helicopter crash.
