The wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles County, including the recent Archer Fire in Granada Hills, have left communities grappling with destruction, displacement, and an urgent need for support. As friends and families face the challenges brought by these devastating fires, local organizations are stepping up to provide relief and resources.
This includes our local sports teams. LA Galaxy and Dignity Health Sports Park are hosting a donation drive in Legends Plaza to support wildfire relief efforts for affected residents. Fans and community members are encouraged to drop off new and unused items on Monday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free parking will be available in Lot 15, and staff will be on-site to assist with deliveries.
Accepted donation items include:
- Water (cases and jugs)
- Hygiene products (travel-sized shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
- Feminine hygiene products
- Blankets and winter gloves
- Baby essentials (diapers and wipes)
- Kids’ supplies (writing paper, coloring pads, crayons, etc.)
- Masks
Once collected, these essential items will be delivered to the Anderson Munger YMCA in Koreatown, which serves as the LA Fire Distribution Resource Center, providing supplies to residents in need.
This initiative was inspired by requests from the LA Galaxy and Dignity Health Sports Park’s community partners, highlighting the collective effort to support families impacted by the wildfires.
