Roadwork tied to the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is set to significantly affect local travel in Agoura Hills over the coming weeks, with weekday closures and detours planned through early summer.
Starting this week, and continuing through July 1, Agoura Road between Rondell Street and Hydepark Drive will be closed on weekdays from 7 AM to 5 PM, according to Caltrans. No vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians will be allowed through the affected section during closure hours.

Drivers will be detoured onto the 101 Freeway between Chesebro Road and Liberty Canyon Road, with signage guiding the alternate route. To assist pedestrians and cyclists, a free shuttle service will run every 30 minutes from 7 AM to 5 PM throughout the closure period.
The eastbound shuttle will pick up passengers at Dorothy Drive and Chesebro Road and drop them off at Liberty Canyon and Agoura Road. The westbound service will run in the opposite direction, with pick-up at Liberty Canyon and Agoura Road and drop-off at Dorothy Drive and Chesebro Road.
About the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing

Augora Hills’ Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is one of the most ambitious wildlife infrastructure projects in the U.S., designed to reconnect habitats divided by the 101 Freeway.
The structure will allow animals like mountain lions, deer, and coyotes to safely cross between the Santa Monica Mountains and surrounding ecosystems. The Wildlife Crossing is currently projected to open by late 2026.
