LA Metro is celebrating National Bike Month this May with a range of exciting promotions, including free rides, discounts and more bike lockers, to encourage more cycling and Metro use. This is the perfect opportunity not only to save a few bucks, but also to explore the city cycling and breaking a sweat! Here’s how it works:
Metro Bike deals
During May, riders can grab a 30-day Bike Share pass for just $1 using the promo code BIKEMONTH25. Additionally, from May 12 to May 16, there will be a flash sale with 50% off the full-fare 365-day passes and reduced fare passes using the promo code BIKEANYWHERE25.
On May 15, all riders can enjoy free 30-minute bike share rides by entering the promo code 051525 at any Metro Bike Share kiosk, online, or through the app. Rides longer than 30 minutes will cost $1.75 for each additional half-hour.
Metro Bike hubs
Previously, these hubs required a monthly subscription, but now, all registered riders can access them for free. To use the hubs, cyclists will need to register and verify their ID. The hubs, which include secure parking and other cyclist-friendly amenities, are part of the new BikeLink program. Users will need to bring their own lock to secure their bike to a rack inside the hub.
New bike lockers
Metro is expanding its bike parking options by adding electronic bike lockers at 18 additional stations. These lockers, available at locations like Union Station, Atlantic, and Soto, can be accessed using the BikeLink app or a payment card. The special deal? Load $5 onto your BikeLink account, and you’ll receive a $5 parking credit when you use one of the new lockers.
