Los Angeles Is The Second Worst City For Nightlife In The U.S.

For some strange reason, Los Angeles has ranked as the second worst party city in the United States. This might come as a surprise for many. However, L.A. knows how to party.

There’s a reason why our city is legendary for over-the-top parties, festivals, and extravaganzas. But apparently the rest of the country is not in on our top party status. Could it be that L.A. parties are too underground for out-of-towners to truly try out the party scene?

A High Price Tag

Researchers at the blog, Giggster, considered many factors when ranking the best, worst, and most affordable party capitals in the country. Los Angeles scored just 2.61/10 on Giggster’s party city scale.

One of the clear factors affecting this score is that the L.A. party scene can be a bit pricey with an average cocktail priced at $20 and a beer at $8. Hotel stays are also price prohibitive with the average three-star room priced at $222.43 per night. So while L.A. is known as a glitzy city, all that glam comes at a high cost.

Factors for a Bad Night Out

Researchers at the blog, Giggster, considered various factors to reveal the 10 US cities with the worst nightlife. The factors included the following:

• the number of bars
• average drinks prices
• the cost of an overnight stay
• the cost of a taxi ride

Worst U.S. Cities for Partying

Sadly, the top 3 worst cities for partying are all in California. However, NYC comes in at a close 4th for the worst city for nightlife.
