The skyline is about to change in Los Angeles, and it’s all for the Bruins’ Basketball team. In a powerful show of pride, major L.A. venues will glow blue and gold to celebrate the UCLA Women’s historic run to the Final Four.
A citywide light show for a record-breaking season
From the iconic Santa Monica Pier’s Ferris wheel (live stream included) to the Rose Bowl, Dodger Stadium, and City Hall, L.A. is going all in on honoring a team that’s putting the city on the national stage.
Downtown’s U.S. Bank Tower, along with Dignity Health Sports Park, will also participate, creating a city-wide tribute that’s as much about unity as it is about sports. UCLA’s women’s team is making school history with its first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance.
They will take on #2 UConn, a team that has made headlines with Paige Bueckers, one of the best players in the tournament. But what makes this celebration special is how the city itself is responding. This isn’t just about a basketball game, it’s about L.A. showing up for its people.
UCLA Final Four free watch party
Additionally, UCLA will host a free watch party for fans at Pauley Pavilion on Friday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. PT. And you can join the watch party by registering on the official website.
With backing from local government offices, including the Mayor’s Office and Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, the event is more than symbolic. It’s a reminder that sports can bring a city together, and that women’s athletics deserve to be celebrated on the same scale.
NCAA March Madness is arguably the biggest tournament in U.S. sports, and having an L.A. team in the Final Four is something to be proud of.
So, whether you’re a lifelong Bruin or just proud of your city, it’s amazing the city’s ability to always support our teams. Angelenos, it’s time to take pride and enjoy.
