The classic weekend family outing with the kids is about to get a bit more expensive. Starting this July, the cost of admission will increase by $5 compared to the previous price. The decision follows the approval of a $14 billion spending plan by elected officials aimed at addressing the city’s budget crisis for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
The new admission prices have been in effect since the beginning of the month. Adult general admission increased from $22 to $27, children’s tickets (ages 2–12) went up from $17 to $22, and senior tickets (ages 62 and older) rose from $19 to $24. Group rates for parties of 15 or more are now $24 for adults (13 and over) and $21 for children (2 to 12).
According to Los Angeles Magazine, this is the first ticket price increase since 2019, when prices went up by $2. In a statement, the Los Angeles Zoo said the recent hike still keeps admission affordable.
The Los Angeles Zoo, a 133-acre facility established in 1966, is renowned for its conservation efforts, including the successful breeding of the California condor and housing rare species like the red uakari monkey. Despite the recent price hike, the zoo remains a vital resource for wildlife education and conservation, offering various programs and exhibits to the public.
