Spring is a glorious time of year, every inch of the city is covered with beautiful blooms and the stunning outdoor landscapes beg to be enjoyed. While the fleeting floral scents and vivid petals seem to vanish with the summer heat, it also brings a new crop of blooms: lavenders.
Although they will reach peak bloom mid June, you can still wander through the upcoming purple paradise with the fresh herbal fragrance filling the warm air at the Highland Springs Ranch & Inn. Just like every year, 2024 is no exception for its annual lavender festival, which is taking place from May 3 through July 21.
There are 20 acres of fields to explore at the ranch, along with handmade lavender crafts to browse, incredible products to shop, and delicious lavender-infused dishes and drinks to taste. It’s a feast for the senses, and it’s the perfect way to escape from the city without traveling too far.
Among the many activities at the festival, you can take a scenic ride through the lavender fields to visit the magnificent 1000-year-old oak tree and then return. During the tour, a friendly guide will share the rich history of the ranch… Sample lavender-infused teas from 123 Farm and regenerative green teas from Wild Orchard. Indulge in tea-based sweets such as Lavender Matcha Cheesecake and Lavender Black Matcha Ice Cream, available in the main lobby.
Or simply stroll through the Indigenous Garden, which showcases native culture and the edible and medicinal plants that grow wild in our area and were historically used by local tribes. You’ll want to make sure you book ahead, as you’ll be competing with day-trippers and bloom-hungry Instagrammers for tickets.
