Guess what, Los Angeles? Levain Bakery, the beloved New York City spot famous for its mouthwatering, ooey-gooey cookies, is opening its second location in the City of Angels! After a fantastic debut in Larchmont Village back in 2023, Levain is now bringing their iconic cookies to the vibrant streets of Venice.
Founded in 1995 by Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald — Levain Bakery started as a cozy East Coast basement shop and has since become famous for its thick cookies that are a true NYC staple. But that’s not all — they also offer a delectable range of treats including freshly baked scones, muffins, and loaf cakes. Their Venice spot marks their 13th location in the U.S. and their second California outpost, making it the next hot spot for foodies.
In April 2022, Levain Bakery shared their excitement about coming to Los Angeles with a heartfelt message, “LA, we’ve been dying to share [our] cookies with you for years now. It is so surreal and exciting to say this… see you on the west coast very soon.”
Now, you can soon find them at their second location: 1214 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291. It’s set to open sometime in 2025 — right on time for their incredible 30th anniversary. Talk about a milestone that also gives us something to look forward to in the new year. Until then, you can still find them in Larchmont Village. In usual L.A. fashion, there may be a line depending on the day/time you go — but of course, it’s all worth a bit of a wait when you bite into that yummy cookie.
