With gas prices already stretching many Californians’ budgets, most drivers are simply looking for the cheapest place to fill up. But for those who don’t mind spending a little extra for convenience, design, and premium food, Los Angeles is about to get a very different kind of gas station.
The city is set to welcome its first-ever luxury gas station, Maggie’s Refuel, a concept designed to turn an ordinary fuel stop into a premium experience. According to Finally Offline, the company recently secured $2 million in pre-seed funding to bring the project to life, with the first location expected to open in Beverly Hills as early as 2027 by transforming an existing gas station rather than building one from scratch.
The location will also feature electric vehicle charging stations and a mobile app with loyalty rewards and digital ordering.
What is Maggie’s Refuel?
Instead of focusing solely on fuel, Maggie’s aims to elevate everything that comes with the stop. Inspired by the convenience store culture found across Japan and the food-focused highway stops common in Italy, the concept blends a traditional gas station with a boutique café and gourmet market.
Customers can expect fresh pastries and doughnuts sourced from local Beverly Hills bakeries, premium coffee, ceremonial-grade matcha, fresh juices and artisan soft-serve, alongside familiar convenience-store favorites like Diet Coke, Peanut M&M’s and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
The company says its ambitions go well beyond a single location, with plans to expand across the Los Angeles area before moving into other West Coast markets if the concept proves successful.
