The first-ever Los Angeles Jazz Festival is gearing up to take over the city in August with more than two weeks of free concerts and events, all culminating in a highly anticipated “Jazz on the Beach” event at Dockweiler Beach and a four-stage Caribbean Street Carnival in Venice.
While organizers are still revealing details, the 17-day program presents a great mix of free and ticketed events throughout the city, giving concertgoers plenty of ways to enjoy the festivities.
LA Jazz Festival program
The LA Jazz Festival will run from August 7th through 23rd, 2026. Here’s a breakdown of all the events you can enjoy around the city.
Jazz on the Beach
On the weekend of August 22-23, Jazz on the Beach will present a great lineup of artists at Dockweiler Beach in Playa del Rey. Saturday performers include Janelle Monáe and Charlie Wilson, while Sunday will feature John Legend and Rafael Saadiq, among many others. Tickets start at $71.43 for general admission.
Caribbean Street Carnival
A free Caribbean Street Carnival will come to Venice on the final weekend of the festival, featuring four stages dedicated to Cuban Jazz, New Orleans Jazz, Latin Jazz, and Afrobeats. Details are still TBA.
More LA Jazz Festival events
While details, venues, and dates are also still largely TBA, the LA Jazz Festival will present several weeks of free shows. Look for “Jazz in the Park,” a series of 25 free concerts at L.A. region parks, and “Jazz After Dark,” exciting late-night events popping up at neighborhood spots around L.A.
The festival will also host a Jazz Youth Camp bringing together 2,000 local students, as well as a State of Jazz Conference for industry professionals.
