Los Angeles is rich in sports history — we are called the city of champions after-all. Which means the passion for our teams run deep — it’s in our culture. No doubt there are teams that clear symbols of our city, we still decided to poll our audience of 800k+ on Instagram, and settle the debate once and for all. Check out the results below!
1. Dodgers vs. Angels
We know. Did we really need a poll for this one? The Dodgers are a proud representation of L.A. — even their own logo is recognized worldwide. For decades, the boys in blue have made sports history and have been home legendary baseball players like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax, Tommy Lasorda, and so many more. Even the answer is clear in the results. No matter where you are in LA County, no team or place competes with Blue Heaven on Earth — and their seven World Series championships. It’s (always) time for Dodgers baseball in this city!
2. LAFC vs. LA Galaxy vs. Angel City
We suppose it’s no surprise that our OG team LA Galaxy took the number 1 spot. Although LAFC and Angel City FC are the new kids on the block, watch your back Galaxians — because LAFC is trailing closely behind.
3. Rams vs. Chargers
Los Angeles went from having zero football teams to now having two! At least we have choices now, and it seems our city is the house of the Rams. With two Super Bowl wins in L.A., the facts check out. Sorry, Chargers. Looks like it’s time for you to charge up elsewhere.
4. Lakers vs. Clippers
There clearly is no debate here. It seems Los Angeles is and always will be the city of purple and gold. The Lakers are undoubtedly one of the most recognized and most followed basketball teams in sports history. We’re talking about all time greats and legends who have worn these jerseys — Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant — just to name a few. Alright, enough bragging! Clearly the Lakers and their 17 championship wins have taken this round.
