Luka Dončić has officially been welcomed into Los Angeles culture with his very first mural in the city. The Lakers superstar, already one of the NBA’s most electrifying players, is now immortalized on L.A.’s walls. It’s a tradition reserved for the franchise’s biggest icons. The mural stands as a tribute to Dončić’s growing impact both on the court and in the community, cementing his place in Lakers history and the city’s basketball art scene.
Murals of L.A. Icons
Louie “Sloe” Motions (aka Sloe_Motions on Instagram) is a Los Angeles–based mural artist known for painting tributes to cultural icons and community figures. One of his most famous pieces is the Kobe and Gianna Bryant mural, titled “Mambas Forever,” located in downtown L.A., created shortly after Kobe and his daughter Gianna passed away in 2020. He also painted a sweeping portrait of Kobe and Gianna with angel wings on a wall on Pico Boulevard, a mural that’s become beloved by many in the community.
And that’s not all, Sloe Motions has painted dozens more murals across L.A. honoring figures like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Nipsey Hussle, Selena, Drake, Lil Wayne, and others, each piece helping to weave local history, hip-hop culture, and sports legacy into the city’s walls. His work not only pays tribute to icons but also transforms Los Angeles neighborhoods into living galleries that celebrate the city’s diverse cultural heartbeat.
