1. 35th Annual Kingdom Day Parade
The Kingdom Day Parade returns for its 35th year on Monday, January 20, 2023. The historic parade starts at 11 A.M. on Western Avenue and runs west along Martin Luther King Boulevard, turns on Crenshaw Boulevard, then east on Vernon Avenue before it ends at Leimert Park with a grand celebration full of music, dancing, food, and more. Those who won’t be able to attend in person and still join in on the festival by tuning into the live stream on ABC7.

2. King Fest

(Previously scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2023, but has been postponed until Saturday, February 18, 2023 to coincide with Black History Month.) The City of Inglewood will host its 40th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration. In honor of Dr. King’s legacy, there’ll be food trucks, commercial vendors, interactive games, live performances by notable stars, L.A.’s hottest DJs and more along downtown Market Street.

3. King Day at California African American Museum
The California African American Museum is holding an incredible King Day 2023 celebration on Monday, January 16, 2023. Their event will feature a powerful performance by the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, a King Study Group, family-friendly activities, arts & crafts, food trucks and more. 4. L.A. Works’ Martin Luther King Day of Service 2023

5. Visit a California National Park
