This 2025 comes with several exciting surprises for fans of outdoor concerts, Broadway musicals, and entertainment in general, as the Hollywood Bowl will officially host musical shows on its summer stages. But as if that weren’t enough, Angelenos will have the chance to enjoy a premium viewing experience in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, with Cynthia Erivo as Jesus.
Wicked’s star, and an Academy Award nominee for Best Actress for that very film, was recently announced with the release of the Hollywood Bowl’s official events’ lineup. This year many A-listers will be taking the prestigious stages, including artist such as Herbie Hancock, John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, the Alabama Shakes and Diana Ross
Jesus Christ Superstar, first introduced as a concept album, is returning to its rock roots at the Bowl. It will feature lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with Tony Award-winner Sergio Trujillo directing and choreographing, and Tony Award-winner Stephen Oremus serving as musical director and conductor.
Ticket sales kick off with new Hollywood Bowl subscriptions and group sales for select concerts both opening on Tuesday, February 18 at 10 AM. In addition, Create Your Own packages will be available starting Tuesday, March 25 at 10 AM, while single-show tickets can be purchased at the Hollywood Bowl Box Office beginning Tuesday, May 6 at 10 AM.
