It’s been twenty years since My Chemical Romance released “The Black Parade,” a grand, gothic concept album that turned “Welcome to the Black Parade” into one of the biggest emo anthems of our time. Now, the band is bringing its anniversary celebration to one of L.A.’s most dramatic outdoor stages.
My Chemical Romance will perform five nights at the Hollywood Bowl at the end of this month, on October 21, 23, 24, 30, and 31, 2026. The run marks the end of the band’s 2026 live itinerary, and makes MCR the first band to play five performances in a row at the Bowl.
The first three dates are officially part of The Black Parade 2026 tour, with the second night actually falling on the album’s 20th anniversary on October 23.
The final two shows were added after the original run for a grand Halloween finale with a special themed atmosphere. October 30, billed as “Devil’s Night,” will feature guest performers The Used, and the October 31 Halloween show will welcome guest performers Thrice.
Released on October 23, 2006, “The Black Parade” follows the story of “The Patient,” a character dying of cancer who is greeted by death in the form of his fondest childhood memory, with a theatrical “Black Parade.” The album is shaped entirely around that premise, with The Patient reflecting on his past and transitioning into the afterlife.
“…We could never have imagined what the record would mean for the band,” wrote My Chemical Romance on Instagram. “All we knew is that we had made something crazy, and something we couldn’t wait to get it out into the world.”
“Today, twenty years on, we celebrate its release.”
