Rain, rain, go away. Come again… maybe not on Valentine’s Day?
If you were planning a cute sunset picnic for you and your love, you may want to reconsider. Yet another rainstorm is making its way down to Southern California, and it’s looking like it’s going to arrive in LA sometime Wednesday evening.
Being a state infamously known for being stuck in a drought, when we remove the idea of having to sit in extended amounts of time in traffic – the rain is kind of nice. However, another strong winter storm can cause flooding, damaging winds, potential mudslides in recent wildfire burn zones. Just last week dozen of trees had uprooted and massive rocks had fallen onto the road causing closers.
The National Weather Service predicts that heavier rains will take place on Thursday, receiving up to one to two and a half inches of rainfall. Mountain and valley communities may see up to four inches! Expect rainy weather through Friday evening. It’s not all bad after all… rainstorms could mean saving money on expensive dinners getting to snuggle, order ramen, and Netflix & Chill! Score!
Here are the latest rainfall projections through Thursday night from our Atmospheric River event. Coast/valleys expected to see 1.0-2.5 inches with foothills/mtns expected to see 2.5 to 4.0 inches with local amounts over 5.0 inches. #LArain #LAWeather #cawx #Socal pic.twitter.com/xAbeqCPQ3x
