Plans For The Two-Hour Train Connecting SoCal To Vegas Are Back On Track

For some, the four-hour drive to Vegas is nothing… this isn’t the case however when traffic causes the drive to be eight hours long. 🚘

If the only thing holding you back from a weekend trip to Vegas is traffic or the cost of airfare, another form of transportation is in the works! A privately owned intercity passenger rail system is planning to get you from Southern California to Las Vegas in just under two hours via a new, highspeed train.

Brightline confirmed that they’ve acquired the rights to the former XpressWest project. When the plan is complete by 2022, trains will run on a 185-mile route between Vegas and Victorville along the Interstate 15. Brightline stated that it will begin construction of the $7 billion line next year.

As a part of the agreement, Brightlight will also acquire 38 acres of land adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip so that they can build a train station that accommodates vacationers with easy access to the city.

Right now, a 65,000-seat indoor football stadium is in the works for the Raiders and their 2020 move to Las Vegas. The upcoming years seem to be beneficial for Angeleno clubbers, gamblers, and sports fans alike who enjoy a quick, mini vacay. Happy traveling!
