We teamed up with Nike LA and fellow Angeleno runners earlier this month for Run & Recover, an empowering community run across Santa Monica followed by a relaxing recovery session at Nike’s historic Blue Ribbon Sports.
But Run & Recover was just one of Nike LA’s many events across Los Angeles, which you can find on the Nike App or by visiting the Nike Experience page!
Between the scenic 5k run led by Girl Gang Crazy’s Mariah Dyson and a meditation session with mindfulness teacher Dora Kamau, Run & Recover was the perfect chance to bond with fellow runners while enjoying a morning of movement.
In case you couldn’t make it, here’s a recap of everything you missed!

Run & Recover kicked off with an energizing morning run across Santa Monica, featuring five scenic, Secret LA-approved hotspots: McCabe’s Guitar Shop, Rae’s Restaurant, Morgan Wixson Theatre, Sorry Not Sorry, and UnUrban Coffee House.
Leading the pack was Mariah Dyson, founder of women-led run crew Girl Gang Crazy. Her LA-based non-profit is an inclusive collective of visionaries with the common mission of empowering women through sisterhood, reclaiming what it means to be crazy through movement.
Dyson kept spirits high and supported runners as they powered through the route, which concluded with a recovery session at Nike’s historic Blue Ribbon Sports at 3107 Pico Boulevard – the Nike brand’s first retail space and community clubhouse for runners, created by runners!
Nike’s BRS Van greeted participants at the finish line, packed with everything from light refreshments to stretch and recovery equipment to support the crew post-run. Then, after replenishing their energy, runners headed inside for a cool-down led by mindfulness teacher Dora Kamau.
Run & Recover was the perfect morning of movement for anyone at any stage of their fitness journey. Plus, the post-run recovery session gave LA runners an incredible opportunity to build friendships and bond with one another.
