What is Nouns Fest?
Nouns Fest is a groundbreaking festival that funds artists from around the world to make original animated shorts. This the second annual in-real-life Nouns Fest. The digital arts collective Nouns funded all the animated shorts that will premiere at the film festival with an over $1 million funding pool. It’s the single largest source of funding for independent animated shorts. Independent animation creators from around the world submitted more than 400 entries.
The animated films all range from 30 seconds to five minutes in length. Even more interesting, is that once funds were granted the creators had no intervention whatsoever by the organizers of Nouns Fest. As a result, the outcomes will be wild, unpredictable, and definitely not fit for all ages.
Additionally, the Emmy®, Annie, and Clio Award-winning animators at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, which is the home of Robot Chicken, will also be a part of Nouns Fest. They will debut three all-new animated shorts created especially for the event. Plus, there is an all-inclusive on-site afterparty after all the screenings.
Who is hosting Nouns Fest?
The incredibly funny Donald Faison will host Nouns Fest. He’s an award-winning actor, voice performer, and comedian. So he’s the perfect host for an incredible night dedicated to celebrating animation and creativity. Faison is the two-time winner of the BET Comedy Award and NAACP Image Award nominee for his role in Scrubs. Plus, he is also an accomplished voice-over artist in animation.
