Are you a fan of the Japanese culture, or even Japanese yourself? Then this weekend has everything you love in one place! A new edition of the OC Japan Fair is coming, promising a three-day event with a wide array of activities for food lovers, shoppers, and cultural enthusiasts alike.
With 55 different festival foods to try, you’ll be able to experience the authentic flavors of Japan, from savory street snacks to delicious sweets. For those who appreciate a good drink, the fair’s sake tasting area will feature 30 different varieties. While sushi lovers can expect the Tuna Cutting Show, that will showcase expert chefs slicing up fresh fish, offering guests a chance to taste some of the freshest sushi in town.
Along with food and drinks, Nakamise Street will offer a vibrant marketplace showcasing traditional goods and anime merchandise, perfect for anyone looking to take home a piece of Japanese culture. But that’s not all, as the fair isn’t just about food and shopping: it also features thrilling performances and shows, including a traditional procession and an exciting cosplay show!
To top it all off, one of the weekend’s highlights will happen on Saturday night: the Lantern Release Ceremony. Stunning LED-lit lanterns, filled with helium, will float delicately into the night sky like glowing balloons. Securely tethered with ropes and weights, they will create a breathtaking display overhead. The cherry on top? Every participant will have the chance to take home their own lantern as a memento from this magical evening.
