The Tony Award-winning play Oh, Mary! is making a pit stop in Los Angeles!
After years of playing in New York City, the show has finally announced a national tour – and L.A.’s own Ahmanson Theatre will host the beloved Broadway show with a cult following.
“Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination,” reads the Center Theatre Group’s website. “Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot.”
The play was written by comedian Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton. In 2025, Oh, Mary! won the Tony Awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton. It was also nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
But who’s playing Mary?
As of yet, it’s unclear who will star in the national tour version of the show, but headliners in New York City have included icons like Jane Krakowski, Maya Rudolph, Jinkx Monsoon, Tituss Burgess, and Escola themself.
When does it run?
The play is set to run November 10 through December 6, 2026, with shows playing Tuesday through Sunday, including matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
Ticket prices at the Ahmanson will begin at $48.30.
